Planning Application Update

Delegated approval

On the 7th February 2007 Cambridge Sport Lakes was thrilled to learn that South Cambridgeshire District Council (SCDC) has approved its plans for its exciting scheme to transform land north of Milton into one of the UK’s largest sports and leisure facilities.

The decision of ‘recommendation for the delegated approval’ of the scheme now gives the green light to start work on the ambitious project to create a 259-acre sports and leisure park between Milton and Waterbeach.

Potential activities at the Lakes will be available to everyone who enjoys the countryside – from leisurely strolls and bike rides to more challenging pursuits such as rowing, canoeing, BMX, and triathlon.  There will also be an educational facility. The site has potential as a training venue for the 2012 London Olympics, and will provide a much needed recreational and relaxation venue for the Cambridge sub-region.
